Although we expected it to reach Liberia much sooner,our paperwork for the children was not actually couriered to Liberia until March 16th (although all was completed the first week of February!), so we are still awaiting a court date and the finalization of everything; however, the Liberian attorney said that he felt he could move our case "quickly." We are very excited because this is the first time we have heard "quickly" associated with anything in our adoption! :)
Now, here's the AMAZING part...We had a Walk-a-thon on St. Patrick's Day at our school and raised over $2000 for our adoption expenses! We felt so blessed by the students' efforts (walking in 26 degree, snowy, temperatures!), but we were in for an even bigger surprise a few days later! My wonderful father-in-law's employers wrote us checks to COVER THE ENTIRE REMAINING AMOUNT OF OUR ADOPTION EXPENSES!!!!! That's EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!! God has definitely blessed our family!
Of course, we plan to pass those blessings along and are creating our own non-profit organization to continue our support of Rainbow Town and Liberian orphans. More updates on that later...
